Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) is a Canadian immigration program that aims to attract skilled workers and international graduates to the Atlantic provinces of Canada, which include Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

The AIPP is an employer-driven program, which means that candidates must have a job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces to be eligible to apply. The job offer must meet certain requirements, such as being full-time and non-seasonal, and meeting minimum wage standards for the province.

To be eligible for the AIPP, candidates must also meet certain language proficiency and education requirements, and demonstrate their intention to live and work in the Atlantic province they have been nominated for.

Overall, the AIPP is designed to help address labour market shortages in the Atlantic provinces and support economic growth in the region, while providing an opportunity for skilled workers and international graduates to immigrate to Canada.

To be eligible for the AIPP, candidates must have a valid job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces. Candidates can search for designated employers through various job search websites or by reaching out to employers directly.

Candidates must develop a settlement plan that outlines their plans for settling in the Atlantic province where they will be working. The plan must include details about housing, transportation, language training, and other settlement needs.

Candidates must submit an application to the province they will be working in, along with supporting documents such as language test results, educational credentials, and work experience documents. The employer must also provide a job offer and a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) that confirms the job offer meets local labour market needs.

All candidates must undergo medical and security checks to be eligible for permanent residency. Once nominated by the province and after passing medical and security checks, candidates can apply for permanent residency through the federal government.

Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)

RNIP stands for Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. It is a program designed by the Canadian government to help address labour shortages in rural and northern communities across Canada by attracting and retaining skilled foreign workers. The RNIP is a community-driven program, which means that participating communities have a say in the selection of eligible candidates and can recommend them for permanent residence in Canada.

Under the RNIP, eligible foreign workers can apply for permanent residence in Canada through one of the participating communities. To be eligible, candidates must meet the requirements of the RNIP and have a job offer from a participating employer in one of the designated communities.

The RNIP is an initiative that aims to help rural and northern communities in Canada grow and prosper by attracting skilled workers who can contribute to the local economy and community. It provides an opportunity for foreign workers to live and work in Canada and eventually become permanent residents, while also helping to address the labour shortages that many rural and northern communities face.

The first step is to determine if you are eligible for the RNIP. This includes meeting the program’s eligibility requirements, having a job offer from a participating employer in a designated community, and meeting the community-specific requirements.

Once you have determined your eligibility, you need to find a participating community and employer that meets your job qualifications and job requirements. The RNIP website provides a list of participating communities and their job openings.

You will need to submit an application to the participating community where the job offer is located. The application will require you to provide personal information, work experience, education, and language proficiency.

If your application is approved by the IRCC, you will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence. You will need to complete the permanent residence application and provide supporting documents, such as police certificates and medical exams. On approval, you will receive a confirmation of permanent residence (COPR) and a permanent resident visa (if applicable). You will need to present these documents at a port of entry in Canada to officially become a permanent resident.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP), you must meet the following criteria:

    • You must have a valid job offer from an eligible employer in one of the participating communities. The job offer must meet the requirements of the RNIP and be for a full-time permanent position.
    • You must have at least one year of full-time work experience (or equivalent part-time experience) in the same occupation as the job offer.
    • You must demonstrate proficiency in one of Canada's official languages (English or French) at a level that meets the requirements of the job offer. This may require you to take an approved language test and submit your test results as part of your application.
    • You must have a minimum level of education that is equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma. In some cases, a higher level of education may be required to meet the job requirements.
    • You must have sufficient financial resources to support yourself and any accompanying family members for at least three months after you arrive in Canada.
    • You must provide a settlement plan that outlines your plans for living and working in the participating community. This plan should demonstrate that you have researched the community and have a genuine interest in living and contributing to the local economy and community.
