EXPRESS ENTRY- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
The Canada Express Entry program is a federal immigration system that selects skilled workers from around the world to come and settle in Canada as permanent residents. One of the three economic immigration programs under Express Entry is the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
It is a program designed for foreign workers who have already gained work experience in Canada and wish to obtain permanent residency status in Canada. The CEC is one of the three federal economic immigration programs managed through the EE system, the others being the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
Candidates are then assessed using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which assigns points based on factors such as age, language proficiency, education, work experience, and other factors. The highest-ranking candidates are then invited to apply for permanent residency.
Overall, the CEC is a great option for those who have already gained Canadian work experience and wish to settle in Canada permanently. However, it is important to note that meeting the eligibility requirements and obtaining a high enough CRS score does not guarantee an invitation to apply for permanent residency, as the number of invitations issued is limited and the competition for spots is high.
Visit the official IEC website and complete the eligibility questionnaire to determine if you meet the criteria for the program. Eligibility criteria can vary depending on your country of citizenship and the category you are applying for.
Depending on the category you are applying for, you may also need to provide additional documentation, such as a job offer or a letter of acceptance for a co-op or internship.
Complete and submit your application through your IEC account. You will need to pay a processing fee at this stage. You can check the current processing times on the Government of Canada website.
Once you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for a work permit, you will have a limited amount of time to accept the offer and apply for a work permit. You will need to pay a work permit fee and provide additional documentation, such as a medical exam, if required. Once your work permit is approved, you can travel to Canada and begin your work and travel experience.
