Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) is a Canadian immigration program that aims to attract skilled workers and international graduates to the Atlantic provinces of Canada, which include Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick.

The AIPP is an employer-driven program, which means that candidates must have a job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces to be eligible to apply. The job offer must meet certain requirements, such as being full-time and non-seasonal, and meeting minimum wage standards for the province.

To be eligible for the AIPP, candidates must also meet certain language proficiency and education requirements, and demonstrate their intention to live and work in the Atlantic province they have been nominated for.

Overall, the AIPP is designed to help address labour market shortages in the Atlantic provinces and support economic growth in the region, while providing an opportunity for skilled workers and international graduates to immigrate to Canada.

To be eligible for the AIPP, candidates must have a valid job offer from a designated employer in one of the Atlantic provinces. Candidates can search for designated employers through various job search websites or by reaching out to employers directly.

Candidates must develop a settlement plan that outlines their plans for settling in the Atlantic province where they will be working. The plan must include details about housing, transportation, language training, and other settlement needs.

Candidates must submit an application to the province they will be working in, along with supporting documents such as language test results, educational credentials, and work experience documents. The employer must also provide a job offer and a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) that confirms the job offer meets local labour market needs.

All candidates must undergo medical and security checks to be eligible for permanent residency. Once nominated by the province and after passing medical and security checks, candidates can apply for permanent residency through the federal government.
